Hospitality industry

Bespoke Lab (The centre for Language consultancy) organises intensive 30-hour English language courses in Matera dedicated to staff working in the hospitality industry adopting innovative teaching methods. Depending on the availability of the course participants, two or three weekly sessions of 1.5 hours each or one weekly session of two hours each or, if required, more frequent weekly sessions may be organised.

 

The course will aim to teach the most common spoken English phrases in the hotel industry in all its departments: reception, reservations, telephone communication and customer relations. Among the topics covered, particular attention will be paid to the following situations:

– Respond to information requests
-Dialogue fluently with customers
-Hold a telephone conversation
-Manage guest arrival and departure
-Manage e-mail
-Resolve complaints and problems authoritatively
-Manage bookings
– Handle emergency calls
-Respond to common questions

The courses will be taught by native English speakers specialised in teaching English to foreigners and will be in English using innovative teaching methods based on everyday life situations in order to stimulate English conversation and comprehension. The course programmes will lead to a gradual development of the four language skills: understanding, speaking, reading and writing with a focus on listening, comprehension and speaking.

The groups will consist of a maximum number of 8 students per class in order to optimise the learning of the sectoral micro-language.

At the end of the course, students will receive a certificate of participation.
